The Mares Proton Octo backup second stage is made from lightweight techno-polymer. It incorporates the VAD (Vortex Assisted Design) bypass system to assist airflow during inhalation and includes a Mesh Grid purge cover designed to stop unwanted free-flow caused by strong currents.
Its high-visibility yellow finish on both the housing and hose ensures rapid identification underwater. An octopus holder is included in the package.
